Empowerment Through Community

Founded in 2022 in Chelan, Washington, Chelan Pride is a queer-led, entirely volunteer-powered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

We are dedicated to organizing initiatives, programs, and events that empower and connect 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and provide essential education and resources for our community, including our allies.

Our hope is to foster authentic connections within our communities through mutual aid, education, and support.

Who we are

The mission of Chelan Pride is to empower and connect the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, embracing all its intersectionalities in North Central Washington and beyond.

We recognize that intersectional identities encompass a diverse range of experiences, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, ability, and immigration status. By celebrating these diverse identities, we strive to create a supportive environment that acknowledges the unique challenges faced by individuals navigating multiple identities.

Our commitment extends to uplifting marginalized voices, fostering inclusivity, and advocating for social justice and safety for all.

Our Mission

At Chelan Pride, we envision a dynamic and inclusive world where 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals are empowered to embrace their authentic selves and celebrated for their unique identities. We are dedicated to fostering a queer-inclusive community that honors the diverse intersectionalities within our identities, creating an environment characterized by acceptance, support, and mutual aid.

Our unwavering commitment to social justice and safety for all drives us to advocate vigorously for the rights and dignity of every queer person, ensuring that no one faces their struggles alone.

Through education, celebration, and solidarity, we strive to build a future where all members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community can thrive and live freely, in a society that recognizes and uplifts their voices.

Our Vision

2SLGBTQIA+ Pride represents a strong commitment to challenging discrimination and violence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning individuals. This movement aims to support their self-acceptance, respect, and equal rights, enhance their visibility as a unified social entity, foster a sense of community, and honor the variety of sexual orientations and gender identities. Pride serves as a positive force countering shame and societal biases, driving various 2SLGBTQIA+ rights initiatives worldwide.
