Chelan Pride is an LGBTQIA2S+ organization run by volunteers in North Central Washington. We support and unite the LGBTQIA2S+ community and its allies to create a safe and inclusive environment for all.
Our Mission
Chelan Pride's mission is to empower and connect the LGBTQIA2S+ community and its allies in North Central Washington, fostering a safe, inclusive, and equitable environment for all. Through our efforts, we aim to create and maintain a sense of belonging and support for individuals, while advocating for equal rights and promoting education and understanding. Together, we work towards building a community where diversity is celebrated and everyone can thrive without fear of discrimination.
Chelan Pride envisions a world in which all LGBTQ+ people can live and love openly, as their most authentic selves, within the NCW communities they call home.
Pride or LGBTQIA2S+ Pride represents a strong commitment to challenging discrimination and violence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning individuals. This movement aims to support their self-acceptance, respect, and equal rights, enhance their visibility as a unified social entity, foster a sense of community, and honor the variety of sexual orientations and gender identities. Pride serves as a positive force countering shame and societal biases, driving various LGBTQIA2S+ rights initiatives worldwide.
