OUT with Chelan Pride – BOULDER PARK

Itinerary:
Meet-up at Lake Chelan Clinic @ 10:30 AM
Picnic at Beebe Park @ 11 AM
Guided Hike at Boulder Park @ 1 PM

Location & Meeting Point

Picnic: Beebe Park

Everyone is invited to bring a small snack/meal for themselves. We will have a chance to chat, relax, share some laughs. Those who may not be able to join on the hike afterwards are warmly invited of course!

Hiking Area: Boulder Park

Explore a scenic loop of 3 to 4 miles in an open, wandering pathway that isn’t a fixed trail. Expect an easy walk with plenty of room to enjoy nature and possibly spot a few flowers along the way.

Meeting Spot:

We’ll meet at 11am in the Lake Chelan Health Walk-In clinic parking lot at 219 E. Johnson Avenue. From Beebe Park we will be driving up McNeil Canyon Road to the plateau. We will be making arrangements for those who need to carpool.

Hike Details & Expectations

Route: A gentle loop covering about 3–4 miles. No defined trails means it’s all about a relaxed, scenic wander.

Terrain: Expect an exposed open area with no shade—ideal for a leisurely stroll, but keep in mind it could be accompanied by a chill wind.

Weather: Forecasts suggest temperatures on the plateau might hover in the upper 60s. While pleasant, the open exposure means you should plan for potentially cooler breezes.

Safety & Preparation

Tick Awareness:

Ticks are active on the trail. It’s a good idea to dress in long sleeves and long pants.

Marty will bring his permethrin spray as an extra precaution, but please consider additional insect repellent if possible.

Other Clothing Recommendation:

Dress in layers so you can adjust as the day warms up or if a chill wind picks up.

Special Event: Picnic at Beebe Park

We’re excited to plan a picnic at Beebe Park either before or after the hike! This gathering will be a wonderful opportunity for relaxation, snacking, and socializing.

For those who may not be able to join the hike, the picnic will serve as a special event to connect with fellow community members. Everyone is welcome to come share in the food and camaraderie, making it a perfect way to enjoy the day together!
